Sherlock Holmes & Watson sculpted by Carlos

Posted by Kostis Ornerakis on 16 Dec 2017, 12:27

This is my new vignette on the bench. :-D
I have worked with my good friend Carlos sculptings. :notworthy:
The lady is a modified Alex figure. In her first life was sitting in a boat's bench. ;-)
Any comment is welcome. :-D

Although I need some help from our friends from England. Of course I want to represent a street corner in Edward's London. I would like to add some road signs either to the lamp post or to the pillar.
Please let me know for appropriate street names. Thank you in advance.

There can only be one street name that fits the dio.."Baker street W1" but in the white and black victorian style

Yes, Baker St. definately.

The nearest street corner to No. 221b Baker St. is at Melcomb St. but for a larger more well known street the next intersection is with Marylebone Rd.

Well, I'm not very good at these days, I went to play basketball with my son and I hurt my knee, (you know at this age, to young to die and to old for sports) and in my country we have problems again. The hobby helps to calm me (moeover when I cant leave home more than two bloks without a taxi) , and watching the Kostis work with those figures raises my spirits a lot.
So thank for that my friend.

I like the scene set out before the spiked railings. Very Nice!
In my mind the street must have an air of a mystery surrounding it .
So what follows is my horrific choice of name.

Image

Sherlock Holmes and Watson would have given anything to have been involved in this Sci-Fi Mystery buried beneath Hobbs End in the famous movie

Image

In Victorian and Edwardian London ,and even Roman times, the horror of a hideous imp-like creature had been recorded as seen in archives.
In 1958 work on part of The London underground gave cause that they be seen again. Hobb`s ,another name for Devil. BB

Great dio. Especially the theme. I was quite a Holmes fanatic some 15 years ago. I always found interesting how Holmes arch nemesis was presented in only 2 stoies and one novel and how medias use him as constant villain. Also media and movies make Moriarty in some type of James Bond villain wanting to rule the world making complicated plots while he was more of chief all crime syndicate whos trade mark was crimes that could not be conected to him.

Yes, it's looking fantastic!

I think you've had some good suggestions for street names already - Baker Street, Hobs Lane, etc.

Love it very much already! And I am very happy Mr. Baskerville's dog is nowhere in sight! Is it Stapleton's dog? Whatever, Baker Street is a little obvious so I like Hobs Lane.

Dear Erik, Marvin, Gunnar and Ray thank you! :notworthy:
I wanted to add a bobby in my scene.
Image
The original (blue) is Lledo Days gone. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13967
After scaling down I worked here and there and I believe that bobby is now acceptable. :-D

Simple but great idea.
Underline place and persons a lot.
The down scaled figure look very good as the ex sitting women.

Long time ago Preiser do one set of modern Policeman. German, French and British.
The head are separated.
But you get a full figure with some small additions.
