My current project post apocalyptic vignette in 1/72

Posted by Ben on 05 Oct 2017, 22:21

Haven't posted anything in a while.

Here my current project, consisting of styrofoam, balsafoam, balsawood, scrap plastic, legs from a Pegasus figure and an arm from a Zvezda figure and a bit of scratch built Details here and there. It will have a flickering LED light

I started it all because I wanted to test Vallejo still water.

A real fine piece of conversion and original work too.
The scratch build elements and painting is great to view too.
Well done Ben. :thumbup: BB

I like the move of the water and ugly poisonous color. And the bottles in it. Weathering of the pipe and step walk is very good. Well made so far.
The people is nice modified.

And the nature is stronger. As we can see the green to start recapturing the scene. :yeah:

@all thank you very much

@Wiking: welll nature is always stronger than mankind likes to think. In this case it is that way, that I wanted to add a frame because I need a bit of space to hide the little LED candle I use to light the scene.

I made the frame out of Balsawood gave a test piece a bit of coloring and right in that moment I was sure that a usual nice and shiny frame would ruin the whole atmosphere. It just had to look rotten and used like a scene for itself.

By the way here a video of the light effect.

A great project !! :yeah: An interesting topic! The vignette already has a gloomy atmosphere. I find the figures very successful. A great modeling and conversion !!!

I'm very curious to see how it goes with the project. Wish you a lot of fun! :-D

Here is a link. It may be interesting for you. The rats could fit well into this scene ....

@Hellboy

Thanks for the hint :)

But I already made two rats for the scene, on sculpted with Beesputty and the other one carved from an evergreen profile and modified with tamiya epoxy.

My photos aren't completely up to date. I also made an old empty boot that could be placed within the scene.

Motivation for those little details came after making the two floating bottles and the old empty tin can, which unfortunately are very hard to see in my photos.

I'm still thinking of adding something like an old newspaper, but on the other hand I think that I shouldn't overload the whole scene with too much small details.

After all it was just supposed to be a test for doing water :D

Really cool scene. Very well executed as well. I very much like the fact that it is small, with only 1 figure but you can get a sense of what its about. Well done.

Thank you all for the kind words!!!

The figure is still far away from being finished, yet. Still have to add details to the gas mask, clothing in general, somewhere he has to have a knife.

Today I added some gloves as well as a second magazine attached to the one in the gun.

If I'm ready at the end of the year I'm happy :D
