It is amazing, to see so many pikemen formed together.
I think we all here are most used to see smaller representations (as biggest as one single set of 30 men maybe) and to conform a unit with actual recordad size (256 men or whatever) is really astonishing.. (and formative, I can feel a little really in the middle of battles of Alexander!

There are some big units if you google, but I have a few more than the ones showing here! But I'm done painting phalangites, the detail isn't that good on the HäT figures, maybe someone makes better figures one day with ringhands to simplify the process. I'll focus on the elephants now. But for now, enjoy this forrest of pikes !

Looks great! Is there a chance for some close-ups?

Well the lightning is bad and most figures are obscured by sarissas but I'm trying...

Imperial at-st walker were defeated by primitive teddy bears in furs with sticks and rocks... Don't believe that a massed disciplined Macedonian Phalanx performs worse than those bears..

Well it's time to go 3D printing, the current elephants on the 1/72 market aren't that good. Expensive but not much else to do.

Here it is in all its glory, the 3D printed elephant! This is my first 3d printed figure or rather creature/animal. It's slightly larger than the Zvezda elephant, it's very evident when seeing the ears, but otherwise the style is similar and size difference isn't that relevant, surely elephants came in different sizes. Maybe it's too big for 1/72 but the more menacing the better. Even if detail is not as sharp as plastic figures I'm still satisfied, maybe printing in other material makes better detail.

However this is too expensive to make many copies, so I'll probably just print the tower and cloth pieces and use them on the Zvezda models. Maybe there's a way to cut down the cost of the elephant model by making it hollow but I have to investigate that. I have a parasol which I will show later.

So impressive result... Did you print it yourself or somewhere else? Can we print one for our own as well :-) :-D ?

I like how it looks after painting.. Actually i had never seen painted 3d model, the result is quite nice.

It's printed by a company called Shapeways, you just upload the file to their site, they print it and send it to you, pretty expensive for bigger models like this, but for figures only it's cheap. Close up the texture or surface looks grainy but I guess it works anyway. Yes you could print it too, but I spent a lot of money on the model and file so I'm not sure I want to give it away for free..

Thanks for your answer, I just was wondering if you had purchased also the file somewhere (shapeways was also my first thought) Actually I never tried that, as you point, every part of this process is still quite expensive.. it will change hopefully in the future.
