Siege Tower

Posted by remmchen on 15 Jun 2009, 19:23

I`am working on a dio with a siege-tower attacking a wall. Here are some pics from the tower. At top floor some archers and two man climbing ladders. These are the first, three more will follow.

Yes Paul.

Hey Remmchen, that siege tower is very nice painted. I have one myself but I haven't got the guts yet to start painting him. The figures are miniart? The climbing ones I'm sure, but not about the rest of them.

Great work  Keep those pictures coming

Very nice, I would love to do sth similar (if I only had the time). But who are they shooting at if the ramp is already lowered? If the ramp is on the height of the parapet the defenders would be more or less on the same height. Unless there are towers nearby, but then the bowmen should aim more sideways.

Just a spontaneous thought. Sorry for nitpicking, I love what you have done so far.

Bowmen are Zvezda, Miniart and Italeri, and the climbing guys are from Miniart, right? (Knights with assault ladders)

Great work Remmchen!

You are right Dürrschmitt with the figures. The climbing ones from miniart are very usefull, with changeable right arms and different weapons. I cut the peg on the back of the figures because I didn`t like the shield from miniart and took some from Italerie and glued them on the back.

The problem with the archers at near distance is, that the manufactors have mostly archer wich not firing across, only the blue archer in the forground from zvezda ist firing strait on.

The kit from zvezda is easy to build, only the wholes in the wheels for the axes are to small and must be drilled.
