If it is very unrealistic I will change it.

Ah!
Thank you.

The third Ni 23 in the row is the one from the Eduard box.
This white, brown tire inspired me to do one plane with light tyre.

With some imagination, likewise a peacock butterfly.

And suddenly in the instruction for the rigging (control rope) passes through the rear wing.
Yes, there are markings at both sides ! But no slots !
I like challenges like that. At a fully fixed and paint model to drill a slot. No, not a easy hole! At one of the weakest areas on top !
Now it look like that.

On the other hand I must accept that my knowledge about WWI planes is upgradable.
If it will be a WW II tank, half truck I am me pretty sure a similar thing I would realise.
But tanks use no rope linked to the track for steering. :-D

Full rigging.
All functions checked, ready for the start. Waiting for green.

There's a lot of emptiness at the front of the diorama. It's fun speculating on what is going to happen there. :-D :-D :-D :P :yeah:

Still more to do.

Meanwhile I let all my connections work. To be equipped if you can`t reach first the packed with all the 1/72 RAF F. E 2b inside.

One give me Mithril.
The next Excalibur.

Read through the whole post, and I'm blown away by the scope and grandeur of this wonderful diorama. All the subplots and the meticulous rendering of detail lavished upon them are spell binding. Love the aircraft too. The rigging alone would have driven me crazy.
Wishing you continued success on this epic diorama.

Marvellous and very narrative! Congratulations for it!
I doubt only the red trousers of the french soldiers - it´s seems me a strange combination of early and late french WW1 uniforms. Especially the red trousers disappeard first because they were too much visible for the german enemy and caused high troop looses - but this is really a minor point of critic for a wonderful diorama.

Was it the red trousers or the bad tactics that were responsible for the casualty rate? Did the red disappear because the red dye used was produced in Germany and so became unavailable?

Hello.

This is again a really interesting scenario by the master of multiple story lines.

I am puzzled by the French aircraft as I was expecting an early Albatross or similar on our friends tail as I believe the DH2 was phased out in 1917.

The French troops would surely be in horizon blue by this time?

The conversions are again inspired. Am I right in thinking that our shaver was an Airfix WW1 Royal Artillery man?

Well done Wiking, the finished product will be excellent as always.

Best wishes,

Chris

Chris, you are confusing the Belgian roundel

with the French roundel

I don't think that Wiking intends a definite timeline in this Diorama. I'm just enjoying his excellent modelling skills and his eccentric imagination.
