Hello,
Shields with pre engraved motives. It is allways a problem to paint small motives on a shield. The decals are to large or to small for the shield which delivered with the figures.Every sheet of shields is available in 3 sizes.

Looks a good idea, how do you fix them to the figures?

I think this is a good idea. Plastic figures often come with shields where the emblems are sculpted onto the surface - which is a nice guide for painting, but totally unrealistic: It means that the shield decorations are effectively 3-dimensional, which is absurd.
Your solution seems much better. The only problem that I see here is the flatness of the shields. It would be impossible to make curved shields this way, like Roman scuta. Or am is there a way round this problem?

The curve isn´t too difficult. Press the shield onto a tube, a pen or similar
I did this to make Pavise

The shields are engraved on 0,5mm Paper, and it is no problem the shields give a roundness.

Shields are wonderfully designed. A must have by Ancient figure builders/painters.

Great tip! As most now here,i am most in favour of using white glue. Another tip, is put the PVA Glue in a pepper pot container and let it evaporate if it is slippy slidy thin in design. later it will be much easier to blob a spot where it is intended to go,and add more to it if needs be.
Brick patterns are easily made up in this uncommon practiced way. BB

If you use glue for the shield boss he is not half round, he is a random product. Times better times worse.
And this problem will not exist since the shield will be delivered with the shield boss. The place for the is engraved and has a certain diameter.
