Battle on the ice diorama

Posted by Ray.Caruana on 13 Jun 2017, 22:07

This is the new diorama which I am currently working on, by Valdemar miniatures and sculpted by the the great Mike Blank himself! It was supposed to be a quick "out of the box" project, but as usual I am taking ages to paint. Sometimes I think that I have a too busy life for this hobby :(

Well this is the progress so far...

Looks fantastic, Ray. The faces and the chain-mail are downright Udo-esque.

Just what can expected from you! Great painted figures! Looking forward to see more of this! And how you will make the landscape. Or will there just be ice?

The problem with time probably have many of us. You're not alone. Heads up! But even if it is only a short time that we have for our hobby. It still gives us fun and satisfaction and gives us a balance to work and family. So I feel it at any rate.

I enjoy the Micro-world of Ray Caruana very much, again.
Everything thats small looks suddenly very big and still clean and precise.

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I even see at least three different thicknesses of steel needle: one for every purpose?

Hello again my dear Mr. Cryns. I'm very glad you like my work.

With regard to the three thickness of the steel wire, as you said there is a purpose for each. The thick gauged sturdy one is for temporary mounting for painting only. The medium gauge is for pinning of the figures to the base and the other one (in this case in the bishop's neck) is for the helm. The latter is flexible so that I can fine tune the position of the rider's head when the scene is finalized.
