W.I.P - a work in progress diary

Posted by Das_Dirch on 07 Nov 2016, 14:27

Hello,

to be a little more active in this forum and also to motivate myself :-D , I decided to lead a model-diary. This means i would like to show you the progress of my newest work in daily steps. Sometimes it will go well, sometimes not  .

It´s named “The Defenders” and should show the 2nd/24th Regiment after the defending of Rorke´s Drift.

So here we start with construction days 1 to 4.

Image

The wall is Stryrodur, with a window made of wood. The roof is made of old bristles. The mealie bag/biscuit box wall in front was made with green stuff. From which manufacturer the boxes i´ve forgotten. The ground is made with molto.

Excuse the bad quality of the photos, has emerged with the camera of my mobile phone.

Looks great! :yeah: The thatched roof, the house wall as well as the floor design is very realistic. All this on a very nice wooden base. This will be a small but very fine vignette. I'm very curious how it goes on!
By the way, I find the quality of the photo quite good. You can see all the detail very closely. Perfect! :-D

Yes Peter, I'm progressing slowly. Sometimes it looks as if it would not so, although you have applied several layers of color. And suddenly after the x-th layer, viola! So I´ll be continue with day # 9.

More highlights added, as well as the shadows adjusted. Last but not least, the samples of the bags are added.

Yes Gunnar you are right, both are Esci. For me still the best figures for this age.

Thanks for your note Peter. I believe I have a problem now. I´ve forgotten that there must be Zulus too. OK, but it´s to late to ad space for them. Can we agree that they are still there. ;-) Do we act as if and proceed with day 11!

The figures are primed and the skin color has painted. The first shadow is done. Sorry this time it’s a very bad picture.
