Work in Progress

Motte (lower Rhine area)

Posted by andi on 22 Oct 2016, 11:07

I finally started a long desired project.

A motte of this kind stood on the area of my home-village. It was used as a border-defence on the triangle-border of the domions of the duke of juelich, the duke of geldern and the archbishop of cologne, which all met here.

So, a load of "palisading" had to be done. Good that I could use my own product for that ...

Let's see, where this leeds to :)

I think it's pretty obvious where this leads to:
First, a horrible amount of work.
Second, a really beautiful diorama when the work is completed!

Great!
I am very grateful that there so many manufacturers of fine buildings in 1/72 today that one can just buy and use. But sometimes, in particular when you want something special that is not available on the market, you still have to make your own construction. I’m quite interested to see the progress of this project.

I second that. There are beautiful Motte-Towers done by Fredericus Rex (for eyample), but those unfortunately are too big for my needs.

Andi this is a great new project. First you delight us with several sets of the most well sculpted and well painted early medieval figures and now you come up with this! I love it.

Small progress on the Motte-Project.
I did some primary paint job on the groundwork, the gate and palisades (KAMAR-production) and started "greening", using Busch Modellbau, Faller and Army Painter products. Also did some "muddy ground" in the river bed.

It look to me you put much work into the green on the - beach.
I like it. it is not homogeneous down to the real looking mud. Different plant in different high and color.
:yeah:
Go on!
