Wow, ADM, every time I see something new of yours posted on the forum I prepare myself for a mind-blowing surprise. And this time has been no different: what a wonderful mass of fantastically painted figures of Napoleon's General Staff and his Imperial Guard, a mixture of almost every possible manufacturer!

I know it is a "retreat from Moscow" project but do the figures really need a blue nose? I spotted some!

Hello my dear friends, 
more work on my St Basil Cathedral, still with plexiglass and PVC, plenty of details and more to come.
Peter, there was around 12 blue nose in my previous work and it has been corrected, it was not possible to see it without big enlargement in photos ! 
I Had to confront a problem with this work, in some part the roof and walls was curved and there was no way to made it by plexiglass with cutting or sanding machines, maybe I could do it by wood covered by resin but it was not the best way, so I used an old oven to heat during 2 minutes a sheet of plexiglass until it become soft like cheese in a hamburger, and put it in a plywood mold, after a few minutes it came back to a frozen shape hard like stone.
If the oven heat too much (over 180 degree) there’s boiling bubble inside the plexiglass and it’s just good for the garbage, this is why I’m doing several of the same part and only take the best one.
I wish a merry Christmas to everybody !

There are no words to describe this project appropriately. Even “fantastic!” seems lame here.
This is probably the most impressive scratch-built architectural modeling that I have ever seen.
Given those many hand-crafted parts, a question comes to my mind: Have you ever considered using laser-cut as a technique? Not all, but a number of the parts that you are using here could be made that way. And it works with plexiglass, too, if that is your favorite material.

Once again a tour de force in construction using one of the most difficult ( in my opinion) materials to work with despite the heavy plant employed.
The attention to detail is fantastic and the model will be of a quality any top class museum would be proud to display.
