I painted these figures in the coat of arms of the Prussian knights (nobility). They were vassals of the Teutonic Order, as they had their land plots in the Order State and for this they were obliged to him military service during the period of hostilities, which in fact was a kind of medieval militia. However, among these "Prussians" were not only representatives of the indigenous population of Prussia - Prussians themselves, but also Poles (as well as Kashubians - the Slavic people of Pomerelia), German colonists. Had a variety of weapons and equipment, but as far as I was able to find out, most of them represented the "middle" cavalry.
As for the figures themselves from this set: they are Lithuanians, but I think they did not differ much in appearance from Prussians (these are neighboring areas, the distances between them are small, and it is very likely that the style of clothing, weapons and equipment was similar), and therefore this The kit is quite suitable for recreating one of the types of troops of the Teutonic Order of the Grunwald Battle.

Very nice job on these, I like the way you've done the folds in the cloaks.

The hand painted shields are awesome! My favourite is the red squirrel.

Nice figures and beautiful painting, Leonid. You have a distinct style with your very black shadow lines.

These figures are one of my very first for this project. I began active work on repainting old figures. I won’t throw them away, really!))
Here is how they looked once:

Thanks! But this set is not the worst, I would say that I liked it more than not. I would gladly make the figures of other manufacturers, but no alternative to the figures for this period, so it’s done, that is. I have already decided to use figures rather for the 13-14 century. After all, no one produces on the scale of 1/72 of these, for example: https://www.perry-miniatures.com/produc ... to16spjm35
I consider such figures to be the standard. And if more multi-poses ... And in the scale of 1/72 - or the 13th century or the War of Roses.

Fantastic painting on display and excellent use of scenery and backdrops to display them.

It will be nice to see this come together.

These figures, as well as from the previous set of "middle cavalry", are the vassal militia of Prussia. Since the figures presented in this set are lightly armed and have almost no protective equipment, I depicted them as peasants — auxiliary infantry, figures with coats of arms — knights of low wealth and squires.

The armies of medieval Europe were, in fact, a militia formed on a vassal principle. There were also vassal warriors in military orders, but there was one key difference from other armies of the Middle Ages: the basis of the army of orders (including the Teutonic) was a constant regular army, which consisted of knights and sergeants. It was the backbone, the "core" of the Order's army, around which the remaining units were formed. The sergeants were professional warriors of non-noble origin, full members of the Order and at any moment ready for hostilities: anytime, against anyone, anywhere. They, like the Teutonic knights, made monastic vows. The ratio of sergeants to knights was approximately 10 sergeants per 1 knight.

Been out of touch on this topic and missed a lot of wonderfully painted quite horrible figures, and some good ones too. Agree with Pascal about the horses! It's great to see your skill on all these figures!
