Which photo host would you recommend?

Posted by Zed1 on 11 Apr 2021, 14:13

Hello folks!

I thought about starting to post some pictures once again, but noticed that my former provider is no longer for free. As I'm not interested to pay for that service but still need a host in order to load up pictures to the forum, I ask myself which free photo host maybe best.

Any recommendations?

These two are still free of charge, easy to use and work really well.

You have a blog. So you can copy the pictures that you post there very easy (copy adress from picture).
You don't need another host for your pictures, if you don't count google. ;-)

Example:

Picture above is code + IMG-button

Imgur is my go-to.

It was a little bit tricky at first, but after a bit of practice I have it down.

lacc gave a nice tutorial on it in the Forum Help section years ago. I still consult it from time to time.

Imgbb.com is the one I use. Very simple, if a little slow at times. Quite easy to use.

You're right, Peter. But I'm on the one hand unsure that everything that appears here must also appear on my blog, nor am I absolutely sure that I want to continue the old blog that way or rather start a new one...

Whatever. I'm once again getting productive. That's what's most important. :-D

I have some unseen topics on my blog where I store my pictures. There I make the copies of the codes and place them here! ;-)

Imgur platform has always been the best. From web design to the options (for FREE) - the value of this combination cannot be understimated.

I agree that imgur is probably the best photo host platform today. But there are smaller, less-known hosting too. For example, Free image sharing, Wix, and even Imgbox are pretty good. These are some good alternatives to Imgur if something happens with this hosting. But unfortunately, sometimes using these hostings may lead to license problems, especially if you download and use images protected by license. I had some troubles with it recently, so that's why I decided to get royaltyfree stock vectors from another place to avoid problems with license holders.
