PSR down?

Posted by StellarX on 12 Mar 2019, 10:36

Apologies in advance if this is not the right place to ask this but...

Does anyone know the reason that the PSR site has been down for the last few days - and if there is an e.t.a. on it being restored?

Many thanks.

PSR goes down for a few days once every few months. There is no announcement that I have seen. Then it returns. I was researching a project and trying to access the site all weekend, without success. The site is back up, now.

Last few weeks I’ve noticed it has been down more frequently than in the past.

I could be wrong, but it seems the degree of inaccessibility is connected to the viewers operating system or web browser?
Just guessing here, because I use different systems during the day and noticed severe connection issues when operating from a PC (with Firefox) recently , but to a much lesser extent or none at all when using Safari (Apple).
Afaik, the PSR principal reads here as well, maybe he could clarify?

I hope there is an orderly succession plan for the PSR site. It is such a tremendous treasure trove of knowledge that it would be a great pity to lose it as a resource if the founder retires or otherwise is unable or unwilling to continue to maintain and update it.

Exactly that :yeah:
I use 4 different Browsers, sometimes PSR doesn´t Show on one, I Switch to another and it becomes visible.

Many thanks for the comments. Strangely, it appears to have recovered today. I only ever use Firefox and have never had issues accessing PSR before. All your feedback is much appreciated however - cheers all. :-)

The site has gone down every few days for the last couple of weeks. Still temporarily down using different browsers at times. But it appears to be up and running today(Firefox).

I´ve stopped using any Browsers or come to that, the internet. I´m printing PSR and other Forums out in paper form. A Little more effort but I think it will eventually save electricity and getting annoyed when the site becomes invisible online.
Adding replies on Forums will obviously be a bit more complicated but the post office is, as I write, still working and if not, there´s always pigeons or dictating the message down the phoneline.

Or there is etching into stone using sharper rocks. The only crash is the sound of the glass breaking as they fly through "Windows."
