I bought a small boat for my diorama project.
I also bought some painting equipment.
Now I'll have to buy the viking oarsmen set to fill the boat with :)

My latest purchase was a bunch of 20mm WW2 pewter-figures from AB Miniatures in England. Pretty expensive but in my opinion there are no better figures for this era. I´ve bought some German Fallschirmjäger, Tank- and SPG-crews and a Luftwaffe eigthyeight crew in tropical uniform.

AB figures 20mm? Guess they're smaller as 1/72 then?

@T. Dürrschmidt

in my opinion the weapons are too big! look a bit goofy- but the rest is really nice! especially the faces!

Made a size comparision yesterday between AB and Revell or AB and Caesar. The same size. But the heads of AB figs are a little bigger so they don´t look too good when put together. And they are smaller then most of Zvezda´s stuff.

Mostly it´s not so easy to mix different brands on a diorama. But sometimes it works proper... ;-)

You are right Rico. Some of the guns (especially the machineguns) are out of the right size. And the figure´s heads are rather big (if you compare them with some other brands). But still absolute nice figs with natural poses, plenty of correct detail and characterfull faces. I´ve used them first with my "Alles Raus"-PZIV-diorama. I will sure make some additional work with them in the next time.

600 random figures off an internet auction. They'll turn up at some point this week. From the picture on the auction, there were a number of Matchbox figures in among them, so hopefully I'll get a few more NATO Paratroopers out of it. Otherwise, who knows?

Also of the interwebs auction, a book called "Uniforms of the Elite Forces", published in 1985, it's full of colour plates of elite forces from around the world in the post WW2 era. Some interesting units in there, so don't be surprised to see my attempts at them turning up on the forum one of these days.

Zvezda 8060 English Infantry of the hundred years war
Italeri 6009 The Knights

Napoleonic sets:
