My latest purchase

Posted by elegantmess on 11 Jul 2025, 03:51

My purchases for the year thus far. I've been showing a lot more restraint than usual this year.
The hard to identify boxes are HaT Thracians and Revell/ Accurate Men-At-Arms. The Redcoats weren't an intentional purchase-- they came free with the other Revell set. The Roman Cavalry I've beenhunting for awhile.
Sorry for the bad phone picture.

In this light alone, it would seem a modest present, Peter. But added to the other 54mm sets, it's a very generous present.

I didn`t have this set in my collection yet. I thought it completely disappeared. Where did you get it?

I finally received the two sets of Hät figures I wanted so much from an Italian distributor:

Image

The figures are very detailed and a good size (although I haven't been able to compare them with those from Accurate, Imex and ACTA because I don't have them to hand where I live now), but the edges between the two halves of almost each figure have a thin film of flash that I don't like at all. Fortunately, the plastic cuts well and, with a very sharp blade and a lot of patience, they can be removed. In my case, if removing it causes any damage to the surface of the figure, I repair it afterwards with white wood glue.

In any case, I am very happy with my purchase. :-D

What fantastic acquisitions, Peter! I enjoyed these figures so much in my teens, and despite their age, they're still great creations, even by today's standards.

Wow, Peter, this is a real treasure, you found.
I have those figures but most of them from Nexus. When I was young I had the bigger scale, which I still own. So I envy you, finding these. :yeah:

I thought, that the box with the British troops, was not yet available. So now I have to look. I am very keen on those figs.

Made some Christmas shopping and saw these on half price. That's 50 and 40 SEK, which is quite okay price for houses in 1/72. And these looked as they could be something like that in scale.

Image

And they are pretty well 1/72. At least compared to my Prussian Landwehr. Just have to paint them.

Image

And when I've painted them I can put a tea-light (electric!) inside and they can look cozy. :-D

Congratulations, Gunar. They are beautiful houses, fit well with 1/72 scale and are very cheap (90 SEK are less than 9 euros).
