I just ordered a few of these two boxed set`s above, that I am going to use for Conversions. For those who know my work the first box of figures might well seem an odd choice for me to make, and so I`ll explain later.
The other day my new boxes of model`s arrived and make it possible now to cover the Napoleonic French Dabacle in Egypt.

Well, why not? I do seem to have for some strange reason,a very large stock of Sand ,and so a good point to mention in connection to the picture above, why not use it.

Here are the other Set`s.

The Camels will have converted French Cavalry riding them, and the Prussian Guns are mainly because one can never ever have enough Guns.

Hagen miniatures have looked very tasty for a while.

Are these as good as they look?

I think so. I have bought them and they look good to me without assembling and painting.

More arrivals came by post a couple of days ago. Above three of the Prussian 12 pdr`s. In total there are twenty- eight 12 pdr`s.I`ve been Super-Gluing them up today. The good news is, that during this process I did not Super Glue myself up too.

Hi there mates,

It´s been a while since i posted my purchases so here goes since April until July, and still some others to arrive. So I have done a bit of shopping/trading here in Portugal, and will try out some stuff in others scales, I have a lot of crazy ideas.

From these I have received some offers from my good friend Kekso namely the NH-90 and the K-9, and Mickey Mouse offered me the US soldiers and the SBT-22, thanks a lot mates.

Sorry to say, I think prices in England are pretty much the same when converted to Euros.
Though I recently paid £4.25 for Hat sets.

Very interesting stuff , I especially like the Gun-Boat. ( I like the sound of crazy ideas too )
Prices for boxed sets, yes they tend to be the same price on e models and Model hobbies ,and Amazon, but on eBay lots of sellers often state postage free, but have already added 50% on the retail price of boxes of model soldiers. So were indeed recently selling the new Hat sets at over £6.00 ,and Waterloo1815 new box sets at £10.00 rather than the retail price of £7.00 making for themselves a tidy profit on the side.
I tend to only order bulk items and only buy from sellers giving combined postage. The money saved helps pay for models, rather than lining the pockets of rather sharp operaters on e Bay. BB

I just picked up a box of Revell British Life Guards at a price about the same as any current 1/72 Cav sets :)

It is good to see older boxed sets still in demand. So Ragnar those Life Guards were a good buy.

Talking of more crazy ideas and obtaining older sets of figures. I just bought these for a project on Fantasy + Sci -Fi on this Forum.

Image

They are very hard to come by in Great Britain ,so likewise were very expensive too,and not 15 cents to buy. I had to haggle for the price to drop on them, and there are more available on E Bay if there are interested members who wish to buy and paint them up. They were always a must buy for my Toy Museum. All that's needed now are a few dozen Romans. BB

Hey Paul... I'm sure Remco would like your purchase when see it :D. I think I would like to paint some but I'm afraid I can't afford them. (And please to all, this is not my cry for help, just statement - I'm not expecting gifts and will refuse any). Cheers

Beano Boy, I paint this series now but indeed the romains are hard to get, Kai Fuhrmann in Germany sells them, and like you say Ebay.
Without the package they will be cheaper, so better buy for painting!
Look at my blog for some painted ones: sjemco.blogspot.com

Nice to see someone else is interested in this series, and I wonder what your plans are..

I've just opened:

two more Mark I Tanks from Master Box
Tadpole Tank from Emhar
Renault FT from First to Fight

and I am chuffed to bits with them!

The Master Box kits have transfers (decals) and the females have two spare Lewis Guns. Sounds very trivial, but it's really difficult finding or making Lewis Guns in 1/72 (each Emhar female Mark IV needs five!).

The Emhar kit is the entire Male Mark IV kit with an extra sprue of track, two sprues of side pieces, and a sprue with the mortar and rear platform.

The First to Fight Renault FT is just fantastic! It was dirt cheap and the moulding is crisp, with no seam line down the middle of the tank; the hull is moulded in one piece. Just awesome!
