Native American colour suggestion

Posted by Rich W on 26 Feb 2018, 23:55

Just wondered if anyone could suggest/recommend a good paint for my Italeri Native Americans (which is a great set) skin tone. The first time I painted them I used Humbrol dark flesh, but I'm not sure it looks that great.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks for that recommendation. Any suggestions for caucasian skin tones? Again, I used Humbrol flesh but when I look at all the pics on here mine just seem to pink!

I used Humbrol a lot, but when the local hobbyshop started with Citadel instead I had to change. I used Ratskin Flesh a lot before for faces and hands (areas that see some sunlight) and Cadian Fleshtone for the rest (if there were any). Now I've started with Cadian Fleshtone for faces and Ratskin Flesh for lips when I bother to paint them. Cadian Fleshtone is a little like Humbrol's flesh in my eyes. On the figures I linked before all caucasian flesh is Ratskin. Good luck!

Maybe this can help:

In first minute she shows how to mix base and light colors, then after 30 minutes shadow colors.

Can anyone recommend a colour for zulu warriors flesh tone? I really struggle to work out which colours work well for darker skin tones so any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hmm, I painted some Ruga-Ruga from Hat some time ago, but I don't remember what paint I used. It was something from Games Workshop. Could have been Dryad Bark.
