Interesting.
1.200,00 € for 3 1:50 scale columns  Decimal Point in the wrong place perhaps?

This has set minds a ticking and is a good post.
I used cork a plenty in the past on the Honey Well Railway Layout, and i found Wall or Floor Tiles were the cheapest way,but still expensive.

25 sheets at £30.49 Free Post E Bay UK

Seems a good price. One could nibble away adding detail.

Well these sheets are the lowest quality for such subjects, you can do brick stone models. If you want to build models with fine textures you have to carve the elements out of bark pieces ... and this material is really expensive today.
On the other Hand, buy bark pieces so you support the care for corc-oaks and conserve mediterranean eco systems ...

Thank you Peter.
I missed Blockhaus completely.
Most of his contribution is from before my time.
But luckily we have you as our guide in this enormous forum.

The cork models in the original link are excellent, I had trouble deciding if some of the shots are models or reference pictures of the original buildings (OK I think the pyramid with the guy standing beside it is a model).

Hadn't seen Blockhaus's buildings before, they are fabulous. All I can say is "Can I book that Medieval gatehouse for a weeks holiday".

I have the stables that he did for Valdemar. It is a very nice model, but unfortunately most of these are not available anymore. http://www.valdemarminiatures.com/defau ... fo&page=48
