WW2 British ghillie cape

Posted by mickey mouse on 02 May 2014, 23:07

Recently I've got a parcel of British paras, and with it are these:
A set with snipers.

Does any of you knows what colors I can use for the camouflage? It's for Arnhem 1944.

Any help greatly appreciated!

My thanks in advance:

Michael

These are sold for re enactors/airsoft fans as sniper camouflage ghillie strings though they could be cloth strips as well.

The colours look pretty good to me for WWII.
The face veil /net/scrim is usually a combination colour of 2 in from right and 4 in from right ie green and brown. The face veils are often missed off sniper models but a white face will show up in the dark. Far left was used sparingly in NW Europe.
Btw Vallejo body putty is excellent for additional camouflage strips but first mix in the colour or pigment (Mig for example) and apply the putty with a cocktail stick. For the master class Tamiya Weathering Master or Mig pigments can be used to tone down the colours after they have dried.
