Helmet camo

Does anyone have a good technique for converting bare helmets into camouflage net covered helmets? I glued some spare tiny sprue cuttings onto the helmets of my IMEX Easy Company guys and it looked okay, but those helmets were already modeled with net covers.

Hello,

How about some cheesecloth or gauze?

It might be able to pull the trick off, but i never tried it  so it´s just an idea, hope it helps.

I already base painted it in olive drab and will dry brush lighter ones when fully dried.

Gauze could be just the ticket, if stretched out, painted, and fitted just right. I will experiment and post the results. Thanks fellas. Any more ideas out there? Photos or a tutorial specific to helmets would be wildly appreciated.

I know it wouldn't be quite right, and would only give the impression, but you may want to try a thin layer of putty with small holes patterned in it with a wire.
Good luck with whatever you choose!
