Pictures Lingen 2010

Posted by Dad's Army on 19 Jan 2010, 09:39

Well guys, I must say Lingen was fun to be.
There where not much figs, saw a few dio's 1/35 and a lot of trains, cars and trucks.
I want to make pictures for you guys, only forgot to put my SD card back in the camera
but I have seen Hans, Andreas and Benno making pictures, so this is a job for them to do!
Hans had his Waterloo dio and his WW1 work in progress.
I must say its amazing how nice he makes this, learned a lot this weekend
Benno painted some 6mm figs, this was fun when I spoke to the people,
first show them Hans his dio with more than 2500 figs,
than the painters and their work, and end at 6mm... you should see those faces :-D
Andreas brought his entry's for the BF Competitions, must say I am impressed.
Always better to see it in real life than a picture, good work Andreas  now you only have to learn dutch ;-)

So that was Lingen....

Hopefuly the pics wont take lang 8)

Yep,
It was very nice with you guys in Lingen.
For Hans and me it was the fourth time in Lingen.
I can say we haven't had so much fun before.
Also in the evening in the bar. :occasion:

There wasn't much modeling going on but the railtracks offered a nice view, specially the scenery of those tracks.
One man was builing a large tree out of copper wire.
We had a lot of viewers, small and large, young and old.
I suspect one of the fought in WW1  If not, then at least in WW2. :oldman:
At some time one of the Grenadiers a Cheval de la Garde rode on to the stand of the neighbours opposit of ours. :horse:
The man from that stand brought him and his horse back to us.

A member of the Royal Horseguarde deserted too.
Later we found him swimming in a pool on a railtrack next to us.
He was punished :spank: by glueing him on his horse!!

Benno, where are the :camera:

I took only one during the build up.
I was too occupied painting french infantry and doing a guided battlefield tour.
We certainly apply for next year's fair in Lingen and hope to be invited again.

Thanks for sharing the pictures

Oh and about that man with the cake, it's completely normal you didn't understand him! When you always have cake , pie or "vlaai" in your mouth, it 's difficult to speak  I know him

Well, it looks like you always have a nice time when you guys have a get together. I think I may have to impose myself on one of these occasions, especially if you are talking about 'overnight'!

When's the next one?

@ Martin

The picture of the French Infantry in the rye field is of your figures are they not.
Is it just me or do a few of the figs have "green" shako covers.
I didn't think French had shako covers in green, or am I mistaken?

Yep, they are mine.
I have a book with paintings of Bernard Coppens (a Belgian) who painted a lot of uniforms of the troops at Waterloo.
It is in French.
Now I don't understand all, but somewhere it is mentioned that the french troops lacked a lot of things.
Some French were even wearing their civilian clothes under their greatcoats.
Other French took a civilian cover to put that over their shakos.
Brown ones and even green ones.

Does anyone else find it funny that in Hans's final picture of the British in Hougoumont, that there is a WW1 tank parked in the barn.

LOL!! Funny

These are deserters, Colin! They run off that other dio that Hans is making. They considered that it will be a very bloody affair on that one. They're much safer in that barn ;-)

Good observation Colin
