It's FIGZ month again and members of our forum are meeting in Arnhem in the Netherlands, as they have done for so many years now.

Fortunately, nobody had to spend the night on the doorstep, but if at all in a hotel. Villa Hartenstein in Oosterbeek is always worth a visit. The former headquarters of the British paratroopers during Operation Market Garden, for which it was a bridge too far. Mr Andrea and I went there at lunchtime and saw, among other things, John Frost's famous hunting horn.

After visiting the museum, we went (1 hour to late) to help the others to set up and prepare the hall.

Remco, for example, prepared his 760 Romans.

At some point, everything was ready.

We just shouldn't have used chewing gum for the posters...

And then Sunday came...

And the first visitors arrived.

Benno got support from his daughter!

The different traders get a warm welcome:
Miniatuurwereld
Jan Frankema
Hagen Minatures
CCG Winkel

Some of the hard-boiled FIGZ veterans were back in the Bring and Show area:
Peter was busy painting.

And he also had a bust of Santi Fernandez with him, so that he was also somewhat present in Arnhem, even if in reality he was far away in Spain.

Andreas (Old Wolf) and Dirk (Das Dirch) could have come as well.

Mickey presented concrete!

Collin showed Wargames in 28mm and also some AFVs

And for the first time there was a historical display with original pieces from WWII.

Söhnke showed typical uniforms of the 82nd Airborne Division as they were deployed in Nijmegen in September 1944. He also showed equipment and personal belongings of a GI.

But there were also a few figures to see.

Wargaming was available in different scales: 6mm, 20mm and 28mm. And in all possible historical eras, right up to fantasy.

Fot the first time Marco from Kiepencon was attending the FIGZ.

Kiepencon is a tabletop convention, that takes place every January in Münsterland.
I definitely plan to drop by.

And in the afternoon, Martin then rang in the traditional prize-giving ceremony for the colouring competition, followed by the communal cake eating, supported as always by Peter the vlaai-man.

Sascha won two second prizes.

Collin the first price single figure (sorry no photo, maybe someone can deliver?)

And Andreas won the other first prize with his island.

The vlaai, was one of the best every imho!

So it was a real great show, some kind of a family-meeting, and a point to chat and look. what others have done since last year. Looking forward to the next June and I am sure Remco has finished number 1000!
