Lingen 2025

Posted by MABO on 19 Jan 2025, 23:25

As in previous years, the FIGZ Promo team was once again in Lingen an der Ems this January to present the topic of figure painting. Once again, we were the only ones to demonstrate this area of modelling.

Remco was generous enough to donate hoddies, which of course professionalised our appearance enormously.

Unfortunately Hans had to cancel, which was of course a great pity, because without him there was clearly someone missing. We are therefore hoping for the next time!

Image

Benno, Martin and Remco were the first ones on site and we always set up the stand. Once again, we had plenty of space to paint, exhibit and play.

Image

As in previous years, a large race track was set up for RC cars and the best of the best were honoured there on both days. Once again, this event took place right in front of us, as you can see in the picture. And after two days we heard the presenter - maybe his name is Hudy - during the night, who presented everything very loudly and enthusiastically throughout. Fortunately, he's really good at it! Because if you're going to be shouted at, at least it should be done skilfully...

The fair was pretty well attended, especially on Saturday. So we all painted, which many people were very interested in because they could only see it at the FIGZ team.

And this is what the whole thing looks like from the other perspective... ;-)

Martin's 3D printing demonstration was again very popular and many people enquired about it. In particular, many of the visitors thought that all of our figures came from the 3D printer. In the meantime, Martin also has a lot to show.

Martin had also organised for visitors of all ages to paint their own figures. This time, some of them were particularly meticulous. It was great to see.

Remco's 660 + Romans were, as always, the crowd-pullers. After he had finished painting 6 more figures at the weekend, there was of course a reward.

Image

We all talked a lot again and, as in previous years, got in touch with lots of nice people.

Image

Image

There were also many interested parties for Benno's ‘Flames of War’. They were able to see how Andrea came out on top in the end.

The main part of the fair was dedicated to other areas of model making. There were various opportunities to drive remote-controlled models: on land and water, on artificial landscapes and over large objects, such as a fantastic bridge.

The fair in Lingen is a real family fair where everyone gets their money's worth. Once again, there were great LEGO worlds to see. And the range of products on offer from the dealers was just as impressive.

Fortunately, the catering on site is just as healthy as at the FIGZ in Arnhem! But don't worry, that's only part of what's on offer. Of course there was also currywurst.

But now a few impressions of the fantastic worlds that the railway modellers presented at the fair:..

But there were also some stands with great dioramas. However, they were only exhibited and mostly not crafted or painted.

And finally, a special highlight for our Italian Mr Andrea. At one stand, an exhibitor had set up an Italian world where you could drive around in small remote-controlled cars.

Image

Image

Image

That was of course a real eye-catcher.

This was a small insight. In any case, we are all looking forward to presenting our figure hobby there again next year.

It has been a week already, but I am still enjoying.
I thought our look was really professional, the hoodies finished it off as far as I was concerned. What a top weekend it was, both days were busy with visitors. For me personally this is the most fun fair, because we don't really belong there. This allows you to tell people about our hobby and you can clearly see the enthusiasm among the best interested viewers, but also by the many young families who clearly all recognize Asterixs and my 660 Romans immediately.
It is great that we can put down a weekend together like this, all with our own task. Among which Jan's report is always something for me to look forward to, I enjoyed it again, thanks for this, class done, none of us can do this as well as you! (so again next time)
