I don't believe this. This is some 1 km away from the place where I spent most of my youth. We used to play a lot in and around the ruins of Hardenstein Castle.

You could pay a visit to my parents in your outfit.

And have a very nice time of course!

the ferry with gaurds

Here you had to give up all your weapons

Pics of one of the knights

Here he is savagely sticking a biro into one of the visitors ;-)

The armourers tent,

there was even a puppet show, in this picture is the "schwarze(black) Benno" Seriously, that was it´s name

Not a bad little day out, Archery, Axe throwing and the re-enactors really got into being middle age folk, made up with scars, blacked out teeth etc. Not a huge event but well attended. Bit cold but fun all the same 8) 8)

Nice pictures Paul  Looks like you had a lot of fun

How did you passe that gate? Don't they know that a camera in your hands is a weapon?  :joker:

Memories of long-past days come back. We used to spend a lot of time on that castle.

Aha, and looking at that pic with the boat I couldn't quite think what it reminded me of. Now I got it - 'The Mouse That Roared', film starring Peter Sellers, medieval army crossing the atlantic in a fisherboat to attack the USA.
