Model Event Lingen 12+13 january 2019

Posted by Dad's Army on 14 Jan 2019, 16:34

Last weekend we did promote our hobby at the Modelshow in Lingen (in Germany near the Dutch border)
The show wasn’t about figures and modeling, but more about trains, plains, cars, trucks and boats.
But it is always nice to be able to show the public our hobby, and try to get a few in to it.
And on this way we promote bennosfiguresforum and FIGZ as well.
Because of this I didn’t post in the event section here this event, cause it isn’t interesting for us. On Facebook I made a small post, and Peter asked for photo’s, so I will do that here.

We had a realy nice weekend, and our team was Martin, Hans, Jan (Mabo), Benno with GF and myself of course.
On the show we also met Andreas (old Wolf) with his son, and Konrad with his wife.
A big supprice for all of us.

Now I will show you a few photo’s of our stand, not of the event cause that wasn’t interesting imo.

On fryday around 13:00 I arived in Lingen, Martin and Hans where already there.
So we could begin to build our stand, starting with the big diorama Hans is making.
It’s a scene from WW1 at Cambrai.

Image
The diorama is stored in boxes, and waiting to get out

Image
On a few tables we placed the wooden plates, and the background is installed

Image
Then the puzzle by number starts

Image
When the first wooden plates where full, the next plates are put in front

Image
and slowly the battlefield of Cambrai grows…

Image
Hans added the tanks, and Martin and I are builing the rest of our stand

Image
When all tables where on there place, it turned out to be a large stand, so I mailed Jan to bring more stuff, hahaha

Image
Hans was happy smiling in front of his diorama

Image
From above you have a great view over the diorama (3,60 x 2,40 meter)

I put my Asterix figures on the table, on shows like these this is always a great hit.

My Romain Army is growing slowly…

to take it up against this few Gauls with magic drink.

And here is our promo team at work:

Hans at work behind his lamp….

Hans when his lamp is a little bit higher, every time a funy picture… hahaha

Jan, curious who is making a picture..

Image
Dad’s painting desk, but because of taking the picture not behind it…

Image
And Benno the forum founder, painting a figure, long time ago!

Image
a picture made by Hans to proof I was there as well, lol

Image
6mm work by Benno, including loop to see someting…

A famous building made by Martin

And the display of some of our work, of course groupbuilds!

The public did love it all…

Image
or taking pictures of my Asterix figures, it almost looked like I am a good painter, so many compliments, that is the best when people don’t know about paining figures, hahahaha

And people could try to paint there own figure:
Image
Image
in total 55 figures where painted this weekend by all different visitors.

Image
I did paint 5 figures between talking to a lot of people, it was fun!
Thanks Martin, Hans, Jan, Benno and Kristina for this cool weekend.

Great report and very nice pics. The work displayed by everyone looks fabulous.

The painting table for visitors is an excellent idea, It's good to see the youngsters having a go.

Totally agree. If you want someone to catch the fever, give them a brush and a primed up figure and watch the fun.

Thanks for doing what you do, Remco. You are an enthusiastic and prolific figure painter, but an even better promoter of the hobby.

And that Cambrai dio is pretty cool. Did the little boy in the picture actually touch the tank?
