2. Dioramica

Posted by Wolfgang Meyer on 19 Nov 2018, 18:54

We have just arrived from DIORAMICA at home. Exhausted, but happy. It was again a great event, for a report I will need a few more days.
But I can already show some pictures of our hobby friend Paul from Scotland from the Danube diorama.

I had the honour to be there and it was an absolutely phantastic event. Every single kilometer I had to drive was worth the experience.

Some pics taken by me can be found here:

I tried to watch the YouTube clip, but I had to turn it off. Too much astonishing skill and beauty to take in at one sitting!

Better luck next time.

but no photo catches the impression of the huge dimensions of some dioramas or, on the other hand, the wealth of details and their fineness. My brain was near explosion.

These pictures are amazing! Absolutely staggering the amount of dedication that it must have taken to complete these.

Are there any more pics of the French and Indian War, Scottish Highlands and Ulundi displays?

Thanks everyone for the pictures and video, some fabulous stuff there.

The Danube and Teutonic Order dios are both incredible! Exceellent work on the rivers and the infinately varied populations. But I also loved the glimpses I got of Leonardo's studio, the Scots castle, and the Meuzzin in the Minaret.

It must have been a great day.

As the beautiful pictures already revealed, it was a fantastic exhibition and a great weekend in general. :-D :yeah:

Was busy to appropriately comply with the numerous pieces of art there.
A feast for the eyes indeed.

Had a few interisting chats with other attendees, but sadly there was no opportunity for an honourable Bennos gathering this time.
Bought quite a number of figures instead... . ;-)

After noticing several people with remarkable photo equipment, I've decided to keep the smartphone in my pocket... . ;-)

Thanks a lot for the Dioramica and your impressive photos, Wolfgang!
It was a very special pleasure to study these dioramas and to meet there sellers and members of our forum. I like it to meet Mr Cryns with his many ships and sailors.
You and your friends have created an impressive world in 1/72. I stayed very long in your museum to study all these wonderful details and sceneries - especially the Teutonic order diorama, the Danube crossing and the Outlander castle....
Can you give us the information, who has received diorama-prizes besides the first prize?

So sad to have missed this year's Dioramica and the benefits that bring with it, like meeting friends and relaxing in quiet Hann Munden. I was unable to travel this year due to commitments at work.
Thank you for the photos and reports. Well done for this year and good luck for the next Dioramica!
