International Small Scale Convention 07.09.2013

Posted by Das_Dirch on 09 Sep 2013, 14:42

For me, the event was a great day.
Thanks to Benno, Remco, Old Wolf, MABO, ZED1, Konrad, Ralf and visitors for your supports to promot the forum. Congratulation to ZED1 for his price by the competition.
Did not take any photos, had forgotten my camera  .
I think there will follow some.

As a taster here is a report from a local newspaper (in German).
http://www.borkenerzeitung.de/nachrichten/heiden_artikel,-Kleine-Welt-fuer-grosse-Leute-_arid,264385.html
By the way does anyone known the guy on the photo?

Am already looking forward to next year and of course the FIGZ.
greetings
Dirk

Hello at all,

it was a pleasure for me to meet some faces behind the names, like Benno, Konrad and so on :-)
Writing in a forum is good but its allways better to talk eye to eye some times !
See you next at Figz 2014 :-)
Cheers

Andy

Yes, thank you Dirk, for organizing us and the presentation. It was nice meeting all of you. And it was fine that our Master of Disaster from the Baltic State was present as well! :headbang:

BTW - that's what they put into "beginners' contest" these days at Heiden. I should reconsider the cathegory to enter my own stuff...

In addition, I noticed a lot more birds this year...

So, since Benno tried to talk me into registering on Saturday (I was the guy with the grey Addidas shirt - so it's your own fault Benno! ) I wanted to make a small comment on this one ...

Well, in hindsight I should have entered the standard category but I had pre-registered over the internet and since that was only my eighth figure I ever finished in that scale I thought the beginner's category would be a wiser choice. Next time I'll enter the standard category, I promise. Image

Hi csThor,
that is no good idea:
Next time I'll enter the standard category,

I am not good enough to flee to the master class...

No problem with that. I always wondered if my work is good enough for the standard cathegory - especially when I see what's on the contest table everytime. :?

But after what I have seen, I know a no-failure way to win a gold medal without a question: enter "Fantasy figure, Beginner". Gosh - I bet that was a mistake... (for all who don't understand the joke: there were cathegories without any entries... ;-) )

Yeah I know what are you talking about. Once, I've won gold medal just because I was only one in that category. :-D :-D :-D

That don`t works on I S S C or even E M E, Heiden as they use international pointing system for the competition. If you don`t get enough points you won`t win, even if you are alone in your class.
And especially in the figure categories most of the judges have international experiance as judges, like Karsten Pöpping from the AGMF.

cheers oke
