Help needed civilians for WW2 dio

Posted by armpcm on 19 Feb 2014, 15:18

Hi all :-)

I need some help on finding civilians for a small dio in WW2.

This is for a friend of mine in a Portuguese forum, we wants to portray the surrender of s.Pz.Jag.Abt.512 and its commander Albert Ernst, to the allies in Abril 16 of 1945 in Iserlohn.

Photos and video of the surrender, where we can see the civilian clothing.

I already know the Preiser ones but is there any other choices out there that he might use?

Thanks in advance mates. :-D

You could use some of these figures. Okay they need some conversions, but it's possible.

agree with Peter : they could be easily converted :

(the man beside the car is a Dapol "Railway workers" figure ):

(maybe I have some of them - both Caesar sets and one sprue of Dapol .... :P )

It's also possible to find some cheap Ho unpainted/painted figures on ebay :
label "Architectural Model figures" like that:
http://www.ebay.fr/sch/Jeux-jouets-figurines-/220/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=architectural+model+figures&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=2
but they are quite small and with a modern look ...

[[and if you find other cheap stuff for sceneries or wargames, the label "architectural model (....trees- ...plants for example is good too ! ) but it's better to do the research "worldwide" because many sellers are from Asian Countries ....

.... and also the "oldie" Airfix Civilians set :

or even the "Station Accessories" which has been re-do by Dapol (easy to find !) :-D

I buy the little railway figures and do conversion on them, however the Dapol Figures are very fine old figures, and easy to obtain from Moddle Hobbies, under the Railway section there.

@mickey mouse - Thanks for remembering me of these offer in civilians I forgot about them.

@Peter and SamSagace - Thanks for the suggestions on the possible conversions, I think the Dapol ones will be the more useful of the bunch.

@Beano Boy - The Airfix and Dapol re-release is quite good some great options.

Once again thank you all for your information, my friend told me that he is looking for around 12 civilians for his dio so now is a question on getting my hands on some Dapol. :winky:

the Platform Figures ? (PSR link)
the Station Accessories (PSR link)
the Railway Workmen (PSR link)

I think that you can find them all on ebay for a reasonable price.
try with this excellent ebay-finder of our friend JM Chasco : 1/72 Depot
