Did you know a manufacturer who does a steam locomotive in 1/72 scale?

one for model-railways or a plastic one ?
Bum makes one but it's very small and awful :nono:

(eventually you can ask at François Simon: he's a specialist of railways, an excellent sceneries maker... and a very nice man:
http://westerntrainnscale.blogspot.fr/ I can help you for the question and the answer in french .... just ask me! :-D )

Thanks for answer, Sam.

I need a plastic steam locomotive and one or two wagons.
I would like to make a dio with robbers or Indians who attack the locomotive (1/72 of course 8) ).

I am very curious how this goes. Thought about a little train-scene a couple of years ago, but the model locomotives are VERY  expensive! If I had known I would have saved my old Märklin! Love Wild West scenes so this will be very nice to see!

I've asked to François and he gives me some informations:
Not a lot of models and more HO scale and also 25mm (but very expensive!)

Dixon en 25mm http://www.dixon-minis.com/dixoncatalogue.php?maintype=12 (75 £ the locomotive!!)
(but r
and HO painted (very rare!): AIRFIX
http://www.airfixrailways.co.uk/Jupiter.htm
http://www.airfixrailways.co.uk/ARSwildWestAdvSetB.htm

And :http://www.modelfair.com/product/52524/tri-ang-railways-r358-'davy-crocket'-locomotive-and-tender

I don't think that it will not be easy!

If he find something else, he will mail me ....

Hi Toma! I've found something !!!!!!!

"Dapol" makes some railways models, some in kits, HO scale (1/76) and I think that they have some locomotives, cattle wagons and maybe passengers wagon (I don't know if they exist) which could be good for your project!!
I've done some searches on e-bay:
Look at those ones, for example:
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Dapol-Model-Railway-British-Rail-Pug-0-4-0-00-Scale-New-/400456309712?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item5d3d0e5bd0

http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Dapol-OO-BR-Prairie-2-6-2-loco-plastic-kit-/370789069940?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item5654c03474

http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Dapol-A010-Cattle-Wagon-Unpainted-00-Gauge-New-Boxd-/170921834857?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item27cbbc3969

and this (not old west) model is very nice too:

Dapol in fact do some old AIRFIX models (even figures! look at PSR)

Look at the Hornby Toy Story train set. If you want a non-working version then you can probably pick it up cheap on ebay.

Hi,

if you have not already bought a locomotive here is a good seller on ebay. I got a Union Pacific Loco for less than 40€ incl. Shipping. Maybe there you find something for you.
